Footloose – Edwin’s Dance School – profile

Mr. M . Edwin an R & D engineer turned into a full time choreographer in 1992 out of his passion for dance. He further completed his DFAB from Malaysia – a teacher’s training course in Ballet from Federal Academy of Ballet in 2001.He also underwent training in Salsa & Latin American Dances in Benny’s school of Dancing in Malaysia & A& J Creative world in Singapore.
In 2005, a fresher’s training from Pose studio, Malaysia helped him learn the latest techniques in ballet. He is the only certified teacher in Coimbatore who has many laurels for his dedication towards the art.

He has been awarded the one among the 5 personalities who has bought fame to coimbatore in the field of dance by Indian Express.
He was invited to train the students in Abudhabi by Sherwood Academy in 2003.
He has been awarded the Rotary Texcity - Service above self award in 2004.

Edwin’s Dance school was started in 1992 and today has a strength of 450 students from the age of 2 ½ yrs – 60 yrs. The school is registered and follows a regular time table & schedule for the students. Over 30,000 students have been trained till date. The school has its head office situated in R S Puram, the branch in Gandhi park & other associates in all areas of the town. Chennai,Salem & Bangalore will soon see footloose & its creativity in swing.

Edwin’s Dance Company is a group of professional dancers who have performed over 3000 shows in India & other countries such as London Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri lanka, France, Switzerland, Holland etc. The Company has a good working rapport with Dance master Kala, Chennai & John Britto Dance Company & other leading dance & Fashion choreographers.


This will focus of two styles of International Dancing. The camp will be for 2 hrs in a day. The age group will be 6 yrs – 14 yrs.

Ballet: The syllabus will cover Pre Primary & Primary of RAD - London. 45 mins time is allotted for this style of dancing.

Salsa: The syllabus will cover the basics in Salsa & other Latin American Dance such as Merengue, Rumba, Paso Doble etc. 45 mins time is allotted for this style of dancing
